Welcome to Tools for Equine-Ranch.com
These are various (Excel) spreadsheets useful for
various things on Equine-Ranch.com. If you don't have Excel you can
download OpenOffice here.
This is used to help choose a horse's best discipline. One important
caveat is that it is based only on the horse's inherited traits and
does not take breed, conformation faults, special traits, etc. into
consideration. Use with care and that important understanding.
2) Discipline2: This is an updated version of the discipline picker and includes CoD information. It is based on the information found here.
Same caveats apply, and in addition note that the raw score values are
about 20 points lower than in the original version, above.
3) Discipline3: This is an updated version of the discipline picker and includes CoD information. It is based on the information found here.
New and improved! Now includes Draft! Same caveats apply, and in addition note that the raw score values are
very different from the first two versions, above. The best way to compare the values is to use the percent score.
3) Discipline4: This is an updated version of the discipline picker which now includes a calculator for pricing horses. Discipline information is identical to version 3 and is based on the information found here. New and improved! Same caveats apply. The best way to compare the values is to use the percent score.
4) CrystalBall I:
This is the original two-generation spreadsheet used to predict how good
foals might be based on the inherited traits of their parents. The
caveats here are that a) I am not not sure the relative proprotion of
weight each generation recieves - this assumes that the sum of both
generations is half the weight of the sum of the parents' generation;
and b) there are other factors, such as prepotency, that go into how
good, or bad, a foal will be. Use with caution.
5) CrystalBall II:
Deka and Aarowstone's modification of the original CrystalBall to
include an additional generation. Same caveats apply here and I would
add that in this case the relative weight formula did not change, so
the sum of all three generations is the half the weight of the parents'
generation. Further modification may be needed. Again, use with caution.
6) Color Predictor:
This is designed to show all the possible colors a given set of parents
could produce. Caveat: it contains some errors and needs some work. In
addition it does not yet have a pattern perdictor. That is coming.
This is a spreadsheet designed to help people keep track of their ranch
finances. Needs a bit of modification to reflect recent game changes.
